Recipes of alternative medicine are still actively used in the treatment of various health problems. In the early stages of prostatitis, home remedies are sufficient. But if the moment is missed, and the problem is already burdened with accompanying complications, you will have to use pharmacological drugs.
Classification and main symptoms
Prostatitis is the development of inflammatory processes in the prostate. The primary source of pathology is a violation of the blood supply to the muscles and tissues of the pelvis or their infection.
The main symptoms that help identify the disease:
- Frequent urge to urinate.
- Cutting pain when going to the toilet or ejaculating.
- Minor purulent inclusions contained in urine.
- Erectile dysfunction (impotence).
The acute form is accompanied by signs of inflammatory process in the body: general lethargy and weakness, hyperthermia, headache.
The disease has a special classification:
- Acute form of bacterial prostatitis.
- Chronic bacterial disease.
- Chronic nonbacterial prostatitis.
- Inflammatory prostatitis, asymptomatic.
In turn, nonbacterial lesions are divided into 2 categories - inflammatory and non-inflammatory.
In the initial stages of the disease, the symptoms are subtle and short-lived, but if you do not take any measures for the treatment and prevention of prostatitis, the symptoms become progressive with severe pain and frequent erectile dysfunction.
You can confirm or rule out suspicions of a prostate problem by contacting a doctor (urologist) who will conduct a series of diagnostic studies, offer answers to several test questions, prescribe treatment if necessary, and educate about prevention methods.
Causes of disease
The preconditions for the development of prostatitis are different and depend on the way of life. Men in their youth often notice erectile dysfunction after stress, for example, during college lectures or when they have problems at work.
A large percentage of patients diagnosed with prostatitis are obese, which contributes to poor pelvic circulation. There is blood stagnation, an increase in prostate size. Declared processes, as a rule, contribute to the development of inflammation in the surrounding tissues and organs.
Last but not least, the development of prostatitis due to trauma to the pelvic organs is important. In case of damage, there is a partial or complete violation of the blood supply (rupture of blood vessels, their violation). Insufficient level of physical activity (sedentary work of drivers, office workers) leads to blood stagnation and damage to the organs and tissues of the pelvis.
Inflammatory processes from the surrounding organs and tissues, for example, in the rectum, pass to the prostate. Prostatitis develops as a complication of frequent exacerbations of genitourinary infections and sexually transmitted diseases.
Home therapy
Alternative medicine has an impressive list of recipes in its arsenal. Treatment of prostatitis with folk remedies should be complex, because the reasons for its development are different. The course should include sedative herbal preparations, anti-inflammatory herbal preparations and, of course, products that increase potency.
One of the most effective methods of improving blood circulation in the pelvic area is the topical application of leeches, but not all patients take this step. In the initial stages of pathology, some prescriptions can solve the male problem of prostatitis on their own, while others play the role of an auxiliary method of treatment on the background of basic drug therapy.
Essential oils and preparations from various herbal raw materials are used as herbal medicine: hemlock, hazelnut, pear, celandine, chestnut, kalanchoe, etc.
Peel an onion
For the treatment of prostatitis in men, a decoction of onion peel is successfully used. It is not difficult to prepare: the raw materials must be washed, put in a pot and filled with water. Cook for 5 minutes and leave for an hour. The resulting broth must be filtered and consumed three times a day for half a teaspoon.
Garlic
The drug is prepared as follows:
- Peel and chop 5 medium garlic cloves.
- Pour boiling water (half a liter) over the obtained porridge.
- Insist during the night.
- Be sure to strain the infusion before taking.
- Take a quarter cup before breakfast and dinner.
This drug begins to work after 4-5 days. In this case, the course of treatment should not be interrupted, it should last about a month.
The positive effect of garlic in prostatitis is not a consequence of the effect on potency, but due to the ability to clean blood vessels. Thanks to this, the blood flow of all organs and tissues in the small pelvis is improved.
Tar
Tar collected from birch is known in folk medicine for its anti-inflammatory properties. In prostatitis, the substance can be used as a rectal mixture and tar water.
The rectal mixture is prepared as follows: the raw material needs to be warmed up a bit and a few drops of propolis tincture should be added to it. A small amount of the resulting composition is injected into the anus at night. It needs to be treated for about 2 months.
To prepare tar water, it is necessary to dissolve birch tar in water in a ratio of 1: 8. Bring this solution to a boil and cook for 5 minutes. The drug is infused in a tightly closed jar in a dark place (2 days). During this time, foam forms on the surface of the tar water, which must be removed, and the contents of the jar itself are poured into another storage container.
Half an hour before a meal you need to drink half a glass of water. The duration of the course of treatment is only 10 days, and then it is recommended to take a break of the same duration and repeat the course of treatment. After that, after 20 days - again ten days of drinking water. If it is necessary to return to the drug, it can be done only after a year.
Aspen bark
Chopped dried aspen bark should be placed in a 1 liter pot for 1 third. Top up with water. In this form, the mixture is infused for 2 weeks. You need to take the strained medicinal infusion in 1 tbsp. l. three times a day. Since the composition is very bitter, you can try sweetening it with honey.
Honey and aloe
A mixture of honey, aloe and red wine is used as a remedy for prostatitis. It is necessary to take equal amounts of aloe and honey leaf juice (for example, 500 g each) and pour a bottle of dry red wine. Insist 5 days in a dark place. The received medicine is taken for 1 month, 1 tablespoon 2-3 times a day. After a week, the course of treatment can be repeated.
Ginseng
Ginseng is known for its anti-aging properties that affect the whole body, including the prostate. You can buy the tincture at the pharmacy or prepare it yourself at home. 1 part ginseng leaf or root makes 10 parts 50% alcohol. For the treatment of prostatitis it is necessary to take 20 drops once a day. But this drug also has contraindications. It is better not to use it if you are prone to insomnia and hypertension.
Herbal decoctions
There are several fairly effective herbal preparations in folk medicine:
- The most effective recipe that uses medicinal herbs for the treatment of prostatitis is the collection of nettle, birch, cranberry, horsetail, sage, quince, wormwood from the leaves. Herbal raw materials should be mixed in equal amounts and boiled in water for 15 minutes. Leave on for 2-3 hours. You must drink the infusion three times a day after eating a quarter cup.
- Another plant collection is not inferior in its positive properties: birch buds, burdock, calamus root, celandine, cuff, chamomile, field ivy, flax seeds, wheat grass, hawthorn berries. The method of preparation and the dose of use are similar to the first recipe. Lemon is added to tea for flavor.
In addition to all the above herbal remedies, the treatment of prostatitis at home is carried out with special devices (massagers), which have a magnetic, vibrational or electrical effect.
Coniferous baths
As an additional remedy for prostatitis during the main therapy, it is recommended to take pine baths. This fee for water treatments is available at pharmacies. According to the instructions on the label, it is necessary to boil a certain amount of dry raw materials and add the concentrated solution to a tub filled with warm water. It should have enough fluid to sit in it. This procedure should be performed every night before bed until the water has cooled (15 minutes). You do not have to sit in a cold bath: this leads to excessive hypothermia.
Physical exercises
Exercise is extremely beneficial for a sedentary lifestyle. Sitting in the office for 8 hours, even in a comfortable chair, disrupts the blood supply in the small pelvis, which leads to stagnant processes. Specially selected sets of exercises speed up the blood and improve the blood circulation of tissues and organs. It should be borne in mind that playing sports will not have a positive effect on bacterial prostatitis.
As a charge against the issue under consideration, a set of special exercises was developed:
- Squats - 100 times a day. They have to be deep. If your physical form does not allow you this number of repetitions, you can divide it into several approaches. The next day, out of habit, my leg muscles can get sore. In the beginning, it is enough to do squats every other day, and over time, when the muscles get stronger, the load should increase.
- "Scissors" while sitting on the floor - 20 times. The same exercise in the supine position - also 20 times.
- "Kalachik" - lying on your back, you must pull your knees as tight as possible to your chest and grab them with your hands. Stay in this state for 20 minutes. In that case, rocking is allowed, which has a good effect on posture and spine.
- Perineal self-massage can also be attributed to physical effects on the pelvic organs. Regular massage helps to get rid of stagnant processes and improve blood circulation.
Such a set of exercises can not only help eliminate prostatitis, but is also a good method to prevent its development.
Conservative drug treatment
After the diagnosis and confirmation of the diagnosis, drug therapy is prescribed, which consists of several categories of drugs:
- Antibacterial.
- Muscle relaxants.
- Alpha group adrenergic blockers.
- Immunomodulators.
- Hormonal.
- Rectal suppositories.
Antibiotics of a certain action are prescribed, which accumulate in the prostate and have an antibacterial effect on its tissues. Muscle relaxants help to relax the muscles in the pelvic area, which can be tense during the exacerbation of prostatitis.
Combining pharmacological treatment with prescriptions of traditional medicine and an additional course of physiotherapy allows you to successfully fight prostatitis. It is definitely not recommended to delay treatment, because one of the most dangerous complications of the pathology in question is prostate cancer.
Prophylaxis
Taking care of prevention is simple: you must lead a healthy, active lifestyle. The main methods of preventive measures include:
- exclusion of cases of hypothermia;
- sufficient physical activity - morning exercises, frequent walking;
- wearing loose, tight clothing;
- limiting the use of spicy, fried foods and introducing foods rich in vitamins and minerals (celery, parsley, etc. );
- refusing to smoke alcohol and tobacco;
- good rest;
- normal (regular) sex life;
- avoiding cases of abstinence;
- vitamin and mineral courses;
- adherence to personal hygiene.
Also, as a prevention of prostatitis, you can use herbal medicines, and herbal preparations and baths not only help in the treatment of the disease, but also prevent its development.
